This institution
"brings recognition to the achievements of women artists of all periods
and nationalities by exhibiting, acquiring, and researching art by women
and by educating the public concerning their accomplishments." In spring
1987, NMWA opened its permanent location, a 70,000 square foot Washington,
D.C. landmark that houses works of over 650 artists. The Web site provides
a calendar of events, a tour providing artist and period information, details
on what's in the Library and Research Center, and information on NMWA's
partnership with the Girl Scouts of the U.S.A.
